Weekends

How was your weekend?  Many of you might have tomorrow off as well for Martin Luther King's day.  I think I'm babysitting, but have to text her to confirm.  Today was a chilly day and I was wearing all the knits to combat the weather.  I wore a hand knit sweater, socks, shawl and mitts. That is why I love winter!  I'm carving out more and more time to knit as I juggle the pets.

Yesterday I spent over two hours organizing 2017 photos on my flickr account.  Why do I wait until the whole year is over?  A smart person would do this task monthly.  Let's see if I'm a smart person in 2018, although in my own defense, two hours wasn't that long.

After the photo organizing, I finished all the knitting of the body of the sweater.  Today I cast on a sleeve.  Getting closer and closer to a finished knit.

Today was left over pizza from yesterday's dinner.  Holly is free somewhere on the main level and Frodo is on his leash.  We are mingling and living together like pros!!  (see, positivity! I worry less and less each day, if I'm being honest with you all).

Frodo!!

  1. What a wonderful weekend! Two hours does seem like a relatively small (ish) amount of time to organize your photos for the year. Some of us (me!) may have let photos get way out of hand, possibly to the point that organizing might be impossible. Your knitting looks great and you're living in the peaceable kingdom, so life sounds pretty good!

  2. Your mitten is beautiful! I have been wanting to knit a pair like that but I don't know if I could properly do the floats.

    1. I do not let the yarn carry more than 3 stitches, however, these mitts are lined so maybe you could fudge the floats a bit.

  3. I'm glad it is working out so well. From here on every day gets easier.

  4. I was bundled up today too - hand knit sweater and socks and a shawl. It is cold outside. Those two projects are coming along nicely. Frodo just cracks me up. He has so many expressions.

  5. I love bundling up!
I think it is impressive that you organize your photos at all. I just search through them frantically! I know I would be thrilled with myself if I actually organized photos.

  6. The photos are a task I just keep putting off, so I am impressed that you have done yours.

  7. Good job on the photo organizing! I don't have flickr, but I've been slacking on organizing photos on my computer. It's a big mess. Should put that on my to-do list!
Our weekend was wonderful. I found I wasn't jetlagged anymore on Saturday (always reason to celebrate) and yesterday we went to the beach for a bit of swimming and sitting in the sun (hoping to loose that just-arrived-color of my skin as soon as possible).

  8. I think two hours was pretty quick for a whole year! I need to do some photo purging myself. Ughhh. I'd much rather knit. LOL! It's cold here, too. Going to get to 16 Tuesday night... which for us, is COLD. You're on the downhill with that beautiful sweater! Look forward to seeing it finished. Stay warm and knit on. ;-) blessings ~ tanna

  9. I let the photos pile up and i purge a few times a year. I always say I'll do it daily and i Do not! Aw harmony in the house! Now the fun begins. That sweater is looking just beautiful . and the mittens make me gasp each time you show them

  10. oh, Frodo....you might as well give it up. Holly isn't going away....and you can fuss at her all you want, and it won't hurt her feelings at all. As a fellow canine, I'm pretty sure those critters don't even HAVE feelings; I had an encounter once. It wasn't pretty. I hate them, too. Rest assured, though, that sharing space with another our species is no piece of cake either. I have a vendetta against 'she-who-must-not-be-named'. Luckily, I'm not subjected to her very often. Your mom has some very pretty knits going on...how come you aren't napping on them? It would probably help let her know who really is top dog. XOX FreddyDogYoung

  11. Great weekend! And, I spent some time uploading photos to Flickr from last year. I have been good about sorting them by month on my pc, but have been lax on organizing them anywhere else! So, yay you!

  12. Yay for sweater progress! Can't wait to see it completed. Aw, such sweet babies!!

  13. It's very cold here too. We keep our wood furnace blazing in such extremely cold weather. Sounds like Holly and Frodo are working things out! :D

  14. Love those mittens! Our weekend weather was insane! We started out at 69 degrees. 69! Then ten hours and a couple of tornadoes later, it was 15 degrees. Crazy, crazy weather, even for Virginia.

  15. Hurrah! for co-mingling! At least you take the time to organize your photos. I still haven't learned that lesson.

  16. I am so glad that Frodo and Holly are doing so well! :-)
Our weekend began on Friday with temperatures in the high 60's. In a matter of 3 hours the temperature dropped 33 degrees. Then came 2 inches of ice. Then 6 inches of snow. We literally spent most of Saturday cleaning up. Now, we're back in the "deep freeze'" again. The upside to this, is that after all of the shoveling, I was able to get a lot done inside where it is nice and warm.

    Have a wonderful week ahead!

  18. Nice work on the sweater! I'm working on one that thankfully doesn't have sleeves, and it's slow going even so. Those mittens are going to be very pretty. Glad the co-mingling is going well. Hope your day today was a good one!

  19. Sounds like you're staying cozy over there...and glad the furry ones are adjusting :)

  20. I’m so happy you mentioned the photo organizing because that is something I want to do more consistently in 2018. And mitts, I very much want to knit mitts. Hope your week goes well

  21. Back in the day I would put photos in albums...then I started piling them in boxes...I have not sorted any of them (or the electronic ones) in ages. It's beyond hope now.

    Cohabitation - that's GREAT!!

  22. As a fellow worrier, time helps me like it does for you. Love seeing your babies. We are talking again about adding to our ohana. While I wanted a Goldie and the husband a GSD, we are now thinking of a Corgi because its size would better fit our small home. We ooh and ahh over the IG Corgi puppies now and laugh at the butt shots.

  23. Knitting, cute animals? Possible babysitting. Big smiles for a good weekend. That picture of Frodo keeps him on the cute list for sure!

  24. Hello, Frodo! I do love getting to wear All.the.Things when it's cold outside. (and often inside - we wear sweaters around here!) Those colorwork mittens are working up beautifully. Have you decided what to knit next - for yourself?!

  25. How rewarding for you to be able to pull out all of those hand knit items that you've made with your own hands and enjoy the warmth that they provide. xx
