Weekends

Our daughter and son in law arrived Saturday afternoon and shortly after their arrival we went to the local fair. We took in the sights and sounds. We ate fair food which sadly made me feel unwell last night. I told you the older I get the less I can tolerate.

Everyone left in stages today and my house is mostly put back together again. I'm currently knitting my third cowl and hope to finish it soon.
How was your weekend?
These posts are such a lovely, calm part of my Sunday nights. :-) I'm also suffering from fair food, but it was worth it at the time...
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
Such a shame the fair food upset you and yet I am sure it was good at the time. How wonderful to spend tie with your family. We had a quiet weekend and a wonderful stroll along the port wall watching the ever changing motion of the sea.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the food issue, it sounds like a wonderful weekend though ! Mine was good, too. Spent Saturday volunteering at the pet shelter and Sunday did a quick visit to my brother and SIL, where my parents were too, at the afternoon. For the rest I kept it quiet, had a little cold, and it seems that one of my pets got it too, now...
ReplyDeleteYour weekend looks like lovely scenes of fall. Mine was full of family gathering and now the week is off to a busy one with lots of travel. I wish I wasn't always the driver so I could get in some car knitting time!
ReplyDeleteOh the fair! I have not been there since our sons lived at home. At least the weather was cooler. I remember many a fair when it was hot and humid.
ReplyDeleteLovely fall scenes, Karen! It seems that fall flipped the switch and turned off summer. I was happily in a sweater all weekend long! Ahhhh! Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteWell that does sound like a good weekend! Mine was quiet, but since I am still trying to knock this cold, that's fine with me!
ReplyDeleteI had the chance to getaway to a knitters retreat weekend. I love being there the first day and knitting and laughing with my friends, but the second day it's hard to stay in the moment as I just want to go home. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely weekend Karen (minus the fair food!!). And yes, Fall has arrived...though we are still soggy with rain on and off all day, every day! I was busy all weekend, but good stuff and I was wearing jeans and a flannel shirt!
ReplyDeleteMy weekend was a busy one, but all of it was good! Best of all was that my family took me out to dinner in Champaign at a wonderful place where I definitely ate too much! A spiced pear daiquiri, a most delicious dish of shrimp & grits, and birthday cake! It was all so good, but I was sluggish at the gym this morning!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Debbie!!!
DeleteWhat a great weekend, Karen! Mine was way more low key ... final prep and resting up for our trip - we leave this afternoon!
ReplyDeleteI love your purple cowl! The stitches are even and lovely . Our weekend was great because Zach was here for the first time since he moved to Chicago in August. He was not ready to go back ! I spoil him rotten and I love to do so. We had awesome weather: sunny 70 no humidity. The hummingbirds are still here! The moon rose beautifully last night
ReplyDeleteOur state fair starts this coming weekend. I can't wait to feel ill from fair food. It's part of the tradition. :) I love the cowls you've been knitting. I've downloaded the pattern but need to take a closer look to see what kind of yarns I'll need. Thanks again for the pattern recommendation.
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely.. minus the upset stomach.

Your purple WIP is looking good. I like the heathered yarn. I"m sorry you got sick from the fair - boo. I so like your property. It seems spacious and airy with nature. You may find me and the dames on your doorstep one day ~___^.
ReplyDeletehow lovely...
ReplyDeleteit rained and rained and rained some more here this weekend.
Sounds delightful....much like my weekend! Family snd food!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you ............just can't take the fair food grease and salt anymore. UGH! Hope you are feeling better today.
ReplyDeleteOh those DONKEYS!!! How sweet are they!
