Weekends

Well, my weekend was filled with goodness.  Yesterday after the kids all arrived, we drove up to Scranton to see Spamalot.  What a fun musical!  I love that we can go up there for a show and get home and sleep in my own bed.  Maybe in ten years time I can see Hamilton touring (ha ha).

Anyways, whenever the house is full, I can barely function with my regular pursuits.  I can't focus on reading a book or knitting on the simplest of projects.  You know what?  I am okay with that personality trait.  I went through the weekend having fun conversations and enjoying them be here.

We ate dinner out on Friday and Saturday night.  Today was boring food to get back into a healthy eating habit.  My house is clean, the laundry is finished and I'm sitting here relaxing.  Everyone left by lunchtime, so I scurried about tidying so I could sit and knit later in the day.

We have snowflakes in the air!  I'm typing away and looking out the window smiling.

My sweater continues to make body lengthening progress - luckily I'm at the part where I can knit and read at the same time.  Simple stockinette never disappoints.  I will be excited to get back to some fair isle knitting near the ribbing.

How was your weekend?

  1. We had a busy weekend, especially yesterday. Our choir had an all day workshop, working on a piece we will sing in the spring that includes 7 languages. Yesterday we were working on Zulu, Hebrew, Arabic and Spanish. Today I am brain-dead!

  3. It sounds like you had the best of everything this weekend - good company, fun times, time to catch up with chores, reading, knitting, and even sleeping in your own bed. It doesn't get much better than that!

  7. My weekend was quiet. I took in a little Hulu, Prime Video and worked on a knitting project. Add all of these together and you get the couch potato. Very relaxing. Great post by the way.

  9. It's always nice to have the family around. We don't live close enough to attend theater and turn around and come home. That's a long day.

  11. Karen, sometimes when I read your Weekends post, I feel like I am reading about my own weekend, LOL! We are so much alike! We saw Spamalot years ago in New York and laughed the entire way through. It is such a great show! You will see Hamilton some day, I just know it! Have a wonderful week! xx

  14. Awww. That's okay that you focus on the people you are with, in those visits! My weekend: tried a new yeast roll recipe, shopped for our big snow in, windchill week. Knitting on my snood. Watched three identical strangers .....so disturbing. Lots of texting with the kiddos . Had bbq ribs last night. First time in 2 years. They are 7 weight watcher points PER rib. but delish
