Knitting News
Since my sweater is temporarily in time out due to yarn shortage (and the skein I ordered should be here on Thursday!). I've been working diligently on my Holly Inspired Shawl in the evenings. Believe me, it's getting bigger and I'm getting closer to the edging.
Now for the exciting news (drumroll....) I started a hitchhiker! So many of you are making beautiful Hitchhikers and I had to join the group. I dove into deep deep stash and unearthed a skein of malabrigo sock yarn that will make a lovely shawl. I think I might have 1/3 of a left over skein in the same dye lot somewhere as well to make the hitchhiker a bit bigger. I haven't started looking yet.
What are you working on this week?
Welcome to the Hitchhiker club! I hope you find it as fun to knit as I do. Your Malabrigo is very nice, and I hope you do have that extra 1/3 of a skein. With that extra yarn, you could knit it to the perfect size (imho).
ReplyDeleteLOVE that, what looks like, deep red and lavender colorway of your Hitchiker! Like I'e always said, Malabrigo rocks. I made one for my 40th birthday a few years ago. I should wear it more often.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of the Hitchhiker knit, it looks like a lovely pattern! Would I be able to find it on Ravelry? I'm still working on the baby blanket and just found out that the recipient's sister is also pregnant! It looks like I'll be doing another blanket once I'm finished with this one! : )
ReplyDeleteI hope your yarn comes quickly, but you have two beautiful projects in the works right now.
ReplyDeleteOh, that hitchhiker looks like a great pattern! I started a simple hat. Not too exciting, but a good project to relax with while we're working on the house.
ReplyDeleteLOL - Bonny is getting us all hooked on Hitchhikers. As she said, welcome to the Club!! You chose a beautiful yarn for your first. Hope your needed sweater yarn arrives on schedule.
ReplyDeleteI'm just trying to work on Mailing's Hitchhiker. I need to choose yarn and a pattern for a new pair of socks.
ok. so maybe now I really am the ONLY PERSON in the whole world who's never made a Hitchhiker?!
ReplyDeleteI've been playing around with different stitches on a shawl made from some of Val's amazing yarn. I may rip the whole thing out. It is so pretty and I think it is a bit too crazy for the pattern I choose. But it is so light to work with and my hands and my eyes love this yarn
ReplyDeleteI love knitting Hithchhikers. It's such a simple, mindless design with just enough detail to keep you from loosing your mind.
