Hitchhiker Shawl
I finished the hitchhiker shawl! I must say this was a delightful knit and I can see why everyone keeps knitting this pattern over and over again. I enjoyed how quickly I memorized the pattern and of course how each section took a little bit longer than the last section. My love of garter stitch grows a little bit more every time I have a project that showcases this simple stitch design.
I did have enough yarn for 41 teeth AND I had yarn left over. Phew! Most of you loyal readers have knit this shawl but if you are a lone reader who hasn't you might want to give it a try one day.

ReplyDeleteIt's lovely! When are you casting on your next one? :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those lone readers that hasn't tried it yet, but I want to everytime I see someone else knitting it. I love yours!
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely and such a luscious color! I hope you enjoy wearing it!
ReplyDeleteIt's really pretty - I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely. That deep wine color is so beautiful on all ages and skin tones
ReplyDeleteTerrific finish, Karen. I like how the Hitchhiker pattern enables one to use variegated yarn and get wonderful results in the end.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colour, it's lovely, I love the way it draws your eye to try and work out the pattern, Cx
ReplyDeleteThat color is just gorgeous and makes for a lovely Hitchhiker. I highly recommend the variation where on every row 6, you purl one and then (yo, K2tog) until you knit one or two at the end.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Karen, such a great pattern and lovely colour. Gerard is finally on the mend, he had a steroid injection which made him feel a little better. Sorry to read about your injury you are in our prayers. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI am behind on blog reading! So I read the last few post… I hope it's not raining now and it's so wise to see what you're thankful for! I have seen many people knit This scarf and it's always a joy to see! I hope you are having a great day today!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, my friend!
ReplyDeleteAren't they fun? I knit one but when the right skein of yarn comes along I'll probably knit another.
