Weekends
Okay, to me a staycation includes spending the night at our daughter and son-in-law's townhouse in Delaware. Saturday morning we got into the car and drove to their place, picked them up and spent the day at the Franklyn Institute.
They had a fantastic exhibit on Marvel Comics. What fun!
We walked around and dropped in on the Reading Terminal Market. Sorry I have no photos, but I did eat some great food before we went out to dinner. (and we picked up donuts!).
After we spent the night at their townhouse, my husband and I drove back to Philadelphia on Sunday to spend the morning and early afternoon at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
I haven't been there before and the museum was great. My only wish was for clear and obvious signs for parking in the garage. We drove in circles looking for it. And we were using two different GPS (including apple maps). The garage doesn't exist in that dimension. Being an old lady, I told the ticket desk people all about the lack of signs and the need for them.
On our way home we stopped at Ikea and bought 'stuff' for the house. Needless to say, I'm exhausted and behind in all of my weekend chores which I'll be doing today and tomorrow!
How was your weekend?
What a great weekend and you've shared some great photos! I hope you get caught up at home and recharge so you can head back out and do some more fun things!
ReplyDeleteTwo great places to visit! And what a nice weekend to be in Philly. I do hate trying to park anywhere in Philly and these days we tend to take the train in whenever we go. Glad you had such a nice time. What did you get at Ikea???
ReplyDeleteI need to find a Marvel exhibit for my husband - he is a big fan. My weekend was lovely too.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! (well aside from the parking issue!) I agree - these are things that any staycation should include!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fantastic weekend! I LOVE the mounted knight and am jealous of you getting to see the Marvel display. Although I really don't care about the comics, I'm a Huge fan of the movies and would love to see the exhibit.
ReplyDeleteGAH! You were so close to where I live!!! I'm glad you had such a good time.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know!! Well pretend I waved 'hello'!
DeleteWhat a great trip. I’ve been to Philadelphia twice and both were awesome trips. I want to go again. I can’t wait to see what else you do on your Staycation.
ReplyDeleteIt was a weekend of art fair in town, cutting competition nearby and other last minutes , Let's go . All in all fun. Got some good knitting done
ReplyDeleteYour weekend looks like it was fabulous. Is that a sign I see for Cassatt? I'd love to see some of her art in person. Rest a little and recharge.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a busy and fun weekend! Home for some rest, eh? My weekend was busy too and full of time with the family, which is always the best way to fill a weekend isn't it?
ReplyDeleteYou sure know how to have fun. Glad you had a great time at each stop.
