Knitting News

The knitting bug has bitten this past week, in that I am knitting wildly and furiously working on three projects. The first project is a second pair of fingerless mitts for holiday gift giving.  I had some loose half skeins in my stash in the same dyelot and knew I could eke out another pair.  I'm excited to do a second pair but I'll be glad when I am done with the second pair.  I might just be overdosing on the pattern a bit.

I started a sweater for the preschooler in a size 4 and I hope she will like it, I know her mom will love it.  I just separated the sleeves from the body and am chugging along with the body of the sweater.

I finally (finally!) got to the the color work part of the pattern of my hat for me.  The white and hot pink yarns are from odds and ends.  The black yarn is 1 1/2 skeins of baby ull by Dale Garn that I had in deep stash.  It is the soft super-wash wool ever.

I should be done with the second pair of mitts today or tomorrow, then I will assess my gift knitting pile and see what else I need to knit before Christmas.  I hope I can also start something for me.  I have a pullover sweater just waiting for me to cast on!

What are you working on this week?

  2. Ooo! I love those colors in your hat! There is not much in knitting that gives as much pleasure as color work does! As for me - I have started a new sweater and am so happy to do so!

  6. You are knitting ALL the things! And, they all look marvelous. I am especially loving your hat (which would look great with my winter coat...just sayin' - lol).

  7. Isn't it delightful, when we "get the urge" to do this or that? And the project flows, like a fast flowing river. -smile-

  8. The colorwork hat colors look fun. I love the smooshy look of the toddler cardigan. The husband wants to do something fun, whatever that means so we'll see.

Hope you get to start that sweater for yourself.

  10. Those mitts are very beautiful. I do the same thing. Knit something and then think I want to knit it again right away and you know what...I just get bored! I'm going to finish a gift hat tonight while watching the END of baseball for the year!

  11. You are knitting so many pretty gifts. I love the yarn in the little sweater. I knit on a pair of socks on our trip. This evening I plan to get back to my hat and mitten sets. I have a set of mini skeins waiting in the wings for a shawl cast on but need to finish the hats and mittens first.
