Weekends

On Saturday we had lunch with our son and his girlfriend, it was so nice to see them and spend the afternoon with them.  Hopefully we will have more visits like this until summertime when he moves to where ever he gets a job.  He's been interviewing so it's early days.

Yesterday after Mass, grocery run and chores, my friends came over for some much needed knitting time.  I do love being with them immensely!  I worked on the felix sweater most of the time.  I am loving how fast it is knitting up!

Last night I switched to working on my purple sweater.  I ordered some twist shorties from Handsome fibers.  They are generous with their coupons.  Anyways, I just didn't feel like doing the sleeves on dpns so I thought I'd give the twist shorties a try.  This set will work with my other sets by the same company.  I love this style of needle!

How was your weekend?

  1. I'm keeping up the good thoughts that your son finds a job nearby. And knitting and brownies are the perfect combination!

  2. A full weekend for you! I did a tiny bit of knitting this weekend and managed to get all the color work on my sweater finished! Now it is the perfect "read while knitting" knit! Good thing, I have a library book due on Wednesday! :)

  3. I have a Felix pullover on my wish list but I am so close to finishing my Dominy. Trying to stick with it since I am on the upper yoke on this bottom up sweater.

  6. Gorgeous sun rise or set... Simply beautiful...

Super idea! Switch around with your knitting. Saves you from becoming really bored with one project. Really sounds wise!

  7. I had never heard of shorties they sound like a great solution to using lots of dpns. I might see if there are any available over here in the UK. Glad to hear that you had another family weekend, they are the best aren't they?

  10. I am hoping your son finds a job within driving distance of home. Your sweaters look lovely. I wonder if twist-shorties are the same as flexi-flips. I might have to give them a try the next time I knit sleeves.
