Knitting News
I am focusing on two knitting projects this week. First up are a pair of socks that are from my own memorized pattern design. I bought this yarn with my sister last fall during the Thanksgiving weekend, who knew I would be pining for LYS experiences now!
This glorious blob of knitting is a lace weight citron shawl. Sadly the photos do not do it justice, because it's beautiful to behold in real life, honest! I'm thrilled with the gradient wool that has some silk content. But the silk content makes the knitting ALL eyes on deck or else you lose a slippery stitch. Who would want that to happen??
What are you working on this week?
Mystery knits! And, loving it! I am also trying to learn crochet! :)
ReplyDeleteLove grey and yellow together! The shawl will be magnificent...you are right though, silk can be so slippery. I'm working on socks (of course) and some granny squares (crochet).
ReplyDeleteYour socks look wonderfully cozy and the gradient in your Citron is both subtle and beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing more of it!
ReplyDeleteYour sock looks amazing!...I love grey and yellow/gold together...
ReplyDelete~Have a lovely day!
Love the pop of colour on that sock, such a beautiful colour combination. The shawl is stunning such a beautiful make. Hope you are safe and well Karen.
ReplyDeleteLike the grellow combination! I was working on my shawl a lot yesterday, but my tendonitis is really bothering me today.
ReplyDeleteI love your sock with the contrasting heel. I think if I knitted with yarn that fine and silk to boot it would be slipping off the needles all the time! I too am knitting a sock - the second of a pair - I am just doing the heel right now. I am also about to learn a new to me technique in order to finish off the body on my daughters cardigan, I am looking forward to that as I love to learn new knitting skills.
ReplyDeleteI love that bright yellow heel and the shawl is just plain delicious. I am knitting a cowl and a pair of scrappy leg warmers. Kind of silly to be knitting these accessories for cold weather but so it goes in the life of a knitter. It is so warm and my shoulder/neck are was starting to complain about the gray sweater so I set it aside for a bit. A little prevention is better than a long knitting rest.
ReplyDeleteI admire your ability to work a shawl in such fine yarn!!!! Thats what makes it so lovely, but I know I would be dropping stitches all the time! YOU GO
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see that shawl finished and blocked, the colors are so beautiful. I am crocheting a top and am really enjoying it. Stay well.
