Weekends

Holly staring down Frodo who is under the ottoman

Hello!  How was your weekend?

Mine was pretty good.  We had an outing!  I know you're wondering 'what is an outing'.  Well, ours was a simple one.  We picked up subs and ate them at the park near the river.  It was one of the best decisions of of the week.

We also went to a neighboring town for selective store shopping.  I was strategic and brief while shopping and was thrilled to see mask wearing everywhere I went.

Saturday and Sunday were blissfully uneventful.  I did my weekly chores as well as spent time knitting and reading.  Holly has been bold bugging Frodo and Frodo has been up to his barking antics as well.  It's been a noisy weekend.

It's now Monday and my to do list is mighty long!  Tell me about your weekend -

  1. Great idea, pick up a sandwich and go to the river....check. We will be doing this, this week, if the smoke from fires moves out.

  2. It's amazing how a simple outing like a picnic in the park can make us so happy (and produce such nice photos)!

  3. We had some al fresco dining this weekend as well! It is a good thing to change your view! :) Have a good week!

  4. Your outing looks and sounds perfect. Holly doesn't seem to be afraid of Frodo as much as she is enjoying tormenting him. She knows she is faster than him. Our weekend was spent enjoying our time together. We watched movies, went to Mass and had take out for dinner two nights in a row!

  5. Looks like a lovely spot for a picnic! A change of scenery does a soul some good. Your weekend sounds lovely to me. Mine was good. Mostly quiet which I like.

  6. Sounds perfect to me. I'm so tired of sitting around the house every day and I'm normally such a homebody, but this has been overkill! Have a great week :)

  7. Sounds idyllic a sandwich outside and a walk by the river. Thrilled that masks were been worn, that must make you feel better.

  8. Wow! an Outing sounds lovely! I did venture to Target for cards, and to my sisters back porch for a little knitting (she has an absolutely adorable 7-week old kitten, and I'm struck by how BIG Holly looks in comparison :-)

  11. Hubby and I tried an unsuccessful outing last week as the main entrance to the park we tried to go to was closed and we couldn't locate another entrance. So glad you had a nice lunch. Most people here are good about wearing masks, but a grocery employee caused me to make a complaint as she was coughing and her mask was a chin strap. Really? She was working in produce also. I really limit my shopping and rarely encounter this type of problem. Great picture of you two. Frodo and Holly are cute despite the noise. Stay safe.

  12. Blissfully uneventful is my kind of weekend. Ours was also uneventful. Saturday morning we had a nice, as in tolerable temps, walk. Sunday my husband made a coffee run and we settled in for online church. The rest of the day we hung out in the air conditioning. He is enjoying the KC Royals baseball games these days. I love how we are learning to appreciate these simple outings.

  13. You two are so cute. Our weekend was quiet . Sometimes Sundays are hard because we are not with our kids. But this sunday was so beautiful and sunny and calm, we were surprisingly content.
I did get some good kntiting done on my new skirt. One more thing: I've been sleeping great but am still so tired in the mornings. THankful I have energy as the day wears on.

  15. Hmmm...this weekend? All I remember is time flying by quickly. Did I see a stack of fabric on your lounge chair? LOL Holly and Frodo. Minnie gets bored around here now that she's the only cat in the house. She sleeps a lot more than before and goes in and out of the 8th grader's room more often.
