Happy List

Good morning! How has your week been? Overall my week has been a good week. I've been thoroughly enjoying watching the leaves change color around my neighborhood. The oak trees are starting to do their leaf dump, in the next week or so the oak trees will be finished. Autumn goes much too quickly for me!

All of the holiday plans in the next coming months are completely undone and I keep trying to think of ways to gather without gathering. Can a fire pit keep you warm outside for socializing in late fall early winter? I don't know. Also if it's raining sleeting or snowing that makes it a little nuts to be outside. If you have any suggestions let me know!

I saw my kidney doctor yesterday and she said 'you are too healthy to be in my clinic'. So I'm discharged!  That was quite exciting. I was so upset when I was referred to her back in February, but now I will miss her, she is a kind, patient and caring doctor. I'm in the process of texting everyone I know with my good news.

Happy list:

-pens and paper - notebooks - knitting - creating an epic menu plan - plans to do country drives - fall colors - hot tea - favorite mugs - phone calls from the kids - my sister - happy celebrations - retirement - brain vacations and daydreaming - good books - the kindness of others - my eyesight - list-making skills - wool in my hands - friendships - good health - jacket wearing weather

What would make your happy list?

  3. Happy dancing over the great news on the medical front! We have just started looking for one of those ‘restaurant’ type outdoor heaters for our porch or fire pit area and apparently some friends managed to snag the last one in town last week. The proverbial you snooze you lose. Not ready to give up quite yet. We too want to extend the outdoor season a bit!
To my happy list I’d have to add my camera, although the real happy is the eyesight (macular degeneration hasn’t progressed to the point of impairing my vision yet! Phew). Happy weekend.

  5. What a wonderful post, oozing with happiness. Your list is wonderful. So happy to hear that you have been discharged by your doctor, that is great news. I think I would add blue skies and sunshine as they are a rarity here so I am happy when we get them, I would also add my camera to record the memories that we make everyday.

  15. Congratulations on your wonderful medical news! I am so happy for you. We are also up in the air regarding the holidays. Our daughter who lives in London wants to come and stay for two weeks before Thanksgiving but with the uptick we are feeling hesitant. Her sisters have already said they won't come home if she is here because of virus fears (totally understandable). We've spoken to her about our concerns and we've agreed to wait until the last weekend in October to make a final decision. This too shall pass, right? My happy list includes, the changing colors on the trees, embroidery, good books, new recipes, time spent with my hubby, and friends like you! : )
