Rainy Days and Planners

This week before the daily rainy days, we were walking our usual daily route. Most of the leaves have fallen but there are some trees that are resisting, mainly the catalpa trees. Maybe we are on our third rainy day, I've lost count. Rainy dreary days are perfect for knitting endlessly.

My new planner arrived on Monday afternoon as well as a new fountain pen and new ink. I've been setting it up so that I start in November. This planner is replacing two to four notebooks or loose pages. I am focusing on daily tasks, menu planning, exercising, budgeting and my schedule. Migrating information from one location to another has been fun. Nothing motivates me more than a new system. I'll keep you updated with my progress. The fountain pen is a TWSBI Eco pen and my new ink is 54th Massachusetts Noodler's ink which is a blue/black ink - I love it. (I purchased through JetPens this is not an affiliate link)

I continue to use my creativity planner as well. That holds my knitting lists and creative pursuits.

I finished the blue baby blanket and will hopefully have the photos ready for next week.

Frodo has been a very wet dog this week and so he's been extra snuggly and waiting for me to put a blanket on him so he can get warm.

I started a baby cardigan for my nephew's baby-to-be a few days ago. Knitting a baby blanket is speedy knitting and maybe this will be done in a day or two as well. Later today I will be digging through the button stash to see if I have anything that coordinates with the wool.

  1. Setting up a new planner is so fun! I was given a Twisbi eco and just ordered an ink sampler so fun ahead here too!

  2. That baby blanket looks so soft and snuggly. I think baby items are so fun to make. They are quick knits and bring back such sweet memories. Nice planner and pen. I received my new planner last month and am chomping at the bit to start it. Mine doesn't start until January, though. I have been looking through it and am excited about starting it. This is the first planner I have purchased that is actually dated and is more structured than my "free hand" journals from the past few years.

  3. Your new pen is very pretty (as is the ink). I'm not into planners at all, but I enjoy seeing what other people do. It has been wet here too - Tyg comes in soaking set and then jumps onto whtaever chair I was sitting in. Yesterday I sat down at my desk chair and got a wet butt!! Happy weekend! the blanket looks lovely and a little baby sweater should be fast!!

  7. Me too! I love a new planner. I usually can't keep one the entire year because i wear the pages out! I like feeling organized. I loved my CHANDLERS as a high school student. Rainy days get to me. Its forty but sunshine and blue skies today! Tree work accomplished. My cosmos are finally too cold to carry on

  8. Your new planner looks so inspiring. It's a good start for an organized life. I don't know much about ink, but I'd venture to say that this one is probably a dream to write with.

  9. Baby knits are so much fun. They always make me happy. I hope the planner works well for you. Your post reminds me I should start looking for a desk calendar for 2021. I usually browse in the book stores to pick out something I like. I probably won't be doing much browsing this year but it is encouraging to think that 2021 will come.

  10. I love new planners, they are so much fun to set up! Stationery stores are dangerous for me, second only to book stores. I can never resist buying something! As always, I love all the projects you are working on, Karen!

  12. I too am curious about the inside of your planner, it looks good. Rainy days are coming thick and fast here too, they are good for knitting aren't they, and baking, lots of baking.
