Weekends
My coffee table is organized chaos, isn't it beautiful? I had a really nice weekend, did you? I visited with my sister and aunt, made cookies, talk a lot. My mom would always say that getting together and talking was 'free talking' because back then the phone calls were toll charges. Cell phones have definitely improved my quality of life.
On our daily walks I've notice that the leaves and past peak, I'm feeling bittersweet about it. I tried to appreciate the fall colors every day and yet I feel like I didn't appreciate them enough. I'll miss those glorious colors. I am looking forward to winter and hunkering down in my cosy house, knitting away.
My weekend news, we had 13+inches of much needed snow! This storm will help so much with controlling the fires here in Northern Colorado. Not sure, I have ever wished for this much snow, this early in the season before, but I am doing a 'Thank you Lord snow dance'.
ReplyDeleteI love your organized chaos table. It shows you are busy making lovely items for others. I too, am sad to see your fall coming to an end. I was enjoying your photos of the colors. Now I will wait for your snowy pictures. I enjoy that season too.
ReplyDeleteThat last picture is gorgeous! And I love your chaotic coffee table too. It looks nice. And if you enjoy it, that's what matters. What new sweater pattern will you be knitting? My weekend was somewhat productive, but too short!
ReplyDeleteLove your organized chaos and I remember all those toll charges back in the day. Cell phones have definitely been a blessing as far as that goes! Beautiful photos too. Glad you had a nice weekend :)
ReplyDeleteMy weekend was quick but it was nice. Your first picture looks absolutely cozy. That's the good kind of chaos!
ReplyDeleteI had a nice long cel phone call with my Mom too...and played with my granddaughter a lot...it was a dreary drizzly early fall weekend...
ReplyDelete~Have a lovely day!
A little organized chaos is good for the soul.
ReplyDeleteLovely you got to spend some time with your sister and aunt. We don't have much family here.. so not a lot of gathering in the kitchen and just chatting. My mom and I are in two very different time zones.. and when one calls the other is almost always busy.
Free talking... I love it! :) And your photos are just gorgeous! (and I hear you on not appreciating the colors enough!! It is too soon gone!)
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so pretty. When Fall colors fade, I think of Robert Frost's poem, "Nothing Gold Can Stay." Fall doesn't last long enough in my book. We had a little snow Sunday evening and early early Monday. Snow on trees with leaves looks a little odd. I wonder what you will find in your stash.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree, those photos are so lovely . I'm with Jane, fall is too short. Winter is too long. I think I need a dog team to get me out.
ReplyDeleteWe had a lovely long weekend, fall-break getaway. The trees have mostly lost their leaves here in Utah after snow and bitter cold temperatures. Hope you week is a good one.
ReplyDeleteI love your Weekend updates! We had a quiet Saturday and then on Sunday we had our friends over for dinner along with their daughter, son-in-law and two-year-old granddaughter. I was a little nervous about Rambo being too active for the toddler but it turned out that he was more unsure of her than the other way around! He couldn't figure out quite what this tiny creature was and why was it in our house... : )
ReplyDeleteI love your coffee table! Quiet busyness in action x
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have had a good weekend filled with lovely things. The trees all lost their leaves over this last weekend, the strong winds we had blew them all away. I wasn't ready for that yet either. I hope you have a good week ahead.
I need to start thinking about the FLOOR in my study as "organized chaos" :-)
ReplyDeleteI hog up the coffee table too, my project bags and cross stitch lap stand is on it, not to mention I have project bags on the chairs.
