Knitting News
Good morning! After what feels like many weeks of not knitting but in reality maybe two weeks (that is many in my mind), I picked up my languishing shawl and knit for maybe an hour. What joyous elation. It felt like sitting down with an old friend.
Speaking of old friends, I was unpacking my office/studio which is a huge huge mess and found my ball winder and swift. I was so excited! I've been wanting to wind up some hanks but packed those tools a long time ago. Now I need to wait for my desk to be brought to the studio room on Friday (family heirloom desk at my sister's house). I cannot wind without a table to anchor the ball winder and swift.
These past two weeks I've been daydreaming of free time to sit and knit, to sit and go through my yarns. This move has taken up so much of my time and yet yesterday I had pockets of time - golden minutes to sit and relax.
What are you working on this week?
I hope that you begin to feel very settled soon! Your knitting is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear you were able to steal a bit of time to get in some knitting. I hope things are moving along nicely and you'll be all settled soon and ready to knit the day away.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing your knitting - so pretty! I'm glad you are beginning to find pockets of time when you can relax and do what you enjoy. I hope you show us your desk once it is moved in!!
ReplyDeleteMoving is a big time consumer. Personally, I enjoyed unpacking the best. It always felt like Christmas, with opening all the boxes. (We moved 14 times in 12 years....I was an expert lol) I am sure your shawl was glad to feel your loving hands back on it too.
ReplyDeleteI’m still rearranging things and I moved 24 years ago!!! Take it slow and enjoy the journey!! Glad to see a few minutes spent on your knitting mental health!! Important!
ReplyDeleteI love the shawl and multi-color project you are working on. So glad to hear that the move went so well and you are settling in quickly. I hope the rest of week goes well as you continue to unpack and find your bearings in a new place.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDelete...I love your blanket...it's so colourful...very best wishes with the settling in...
~Have a lovely day!
I’m glad you are finding time to knit. I’m working on a shawl that has been on the needles for a very long time.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like a familiar project - and a few well-loved tools! - to make a new house feel like a home! So glad you're finding time to knit again! (I'm still working on the same pink cardigan ... no news here!)
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for some down time. I bet you felt renewed after your hour of knitting.
ReplyDeleteHooray for a few golden minutes to sit with your knitting. I'm glad you found the ball winder and swift. Take a little time each day for yourself. Easier said than done I am sure. Currently I am on a mission to finish the shawl I've been working on since late Spring. I am itching to cast on another but feel like I need to finish this one first.
ReplyDeleteYippee, time for knitting. Life is good! Glad all is going well. Hope you have managed to get the RA under control.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you’re settling in beautifully! I look forward to seeing more pictures of your new home as you continue to settle in.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are getting settled and now can tweak out a few minutes to knit. Your shawl looks beautiful. Stay safe and take time to rest.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are getting settled! That must feel good. It must feel great to have some time to knit! Your shawl is going to be beautiful. As for me, I'm working on some socks.
ReplyDeleteOh my your shawl is so beautiful. You made it in wine color before if I recall correctly ! Just love it. I don't imagine I'd follow the lace as well as you have.
ReplyDeleteIt's great you are settling in and able to get back to your knitting! It sounds like you have so many exciting projects to work on! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a nice weekend :) I had a fun girly day out shopping yesterday, it was so much fun!
Away From The Blue
So many of us are moving these days. It is both good —forced decluttering and a fresh start — but also hard— packing and unpacking, constantly searching for things. I hope you are as happy in your new house as we are in ours!
ReplyDeleteYAY for the soothing rhythm of knitting!
