Good morning! How was your weekend?

My weekend was my birthday weekend! 

To be honest though I've been celebrating for a few weeks. Why not? My sister and brother in law came over on Saturday for dinner and apple cake. Of course I opened presents as well. 

Below in the photo are some of them. My sister crocheted the red basket and I received some books and pens from my husband (how did he know??). I also received some new rain boots to slip on and off quickly when I take the dog outside and a new tote bag. 



I put up the little tree yesterday since our son and and daughter in law will be visiting mid week! I'm assuming Holly will not bring it down, fingers crossed.

    Happy birthday! Sounds like such a nice weekend. Love that cheery red basket and your tree looks so pretty. I'm wondering what we should do (or not do) for decorations this year given the antics of Mabel!! Have a great visit with your son and daughter-in-law.

    A very Happy Birthday! We put some lights up outside for the littles and hung a wreath....might be all I do this Christmas.

    Happy happy birthday. Sounds like a lovely weekend. Mine was nice and quiet with intermittent knitting and baking. Our tree will be going up this weekend. We bought a new one so am pretty excited to see how it looks.

    It's so nice you have the tree up already too! I hope we can put ours up this weekend, although it's another busy one so not sure we will find time.

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
