Weekends

Hello! How are you? It seems like forever since I posted but really it was just less than a week ago. How was your Thanksgiving (if you celebrate of course)? Our son and daughter in law arrived on Wednesday to stay with us during the holiday, It was nice to see them and we will not see them again until the baby is born in early February or later, it is all up in the air since babies do not follow a set schedule.

We spent Thanksgiving Day at my dad's house and exchanged presents with him which is our yearly tradition, We missed our daughter and son in law as well as my nephew, his wife and child who could not be there. Hopefully 2022 will be the year we are all together!

On Saturday, my husband and I hosted a small baby shower for them. Lots and lots of preparations but also a really nice time with close family and a few of their friends. I was exhausted AND I had many many helping hands with my family. I cannot imagine how tired I would have been without their help.

We've had snow showers in the mornings the past few days and I've been decorating the house for Christmas while listening to Christmas music. I'm still not finished but oh so close! I bought a sweater for Frodo (I know I can knit one but I thought if I bought one I could write up a pattern based on the measurements - he has really weird measurements - super skinny neck and a barrel chest) sadly as you can see Frodo is a frozen statue, he refuses to move.

He shivers more because he is 'elderly' and he was toasty warm in the coat but won't move....so I'll try to train him. What a goof ball.

How was your weekend?

  7. Holly is sitting in my lap under a little blanket as I type this ... I do need to knit her a new sweater (but she's just as weirdly proportioned as Frodo - only smaller) ... and oh my the expectant parents - they look so happy - and expectant :-) How fun you got to throw a shower for them!
