Knitting News
This week I've been working on two projects but both of them are slow going. For some unknown reason my left wrist is hurting slightly, not sure why, so I am scaling back the knitting just in case that is the reason. The socks are for my husband and I am half way to the toe decreasing. I wasn't sure what this color way would look like but it's a fun bright color way for these winter days.
Next up is a feather and fan blanket from deep deep stash out of wool-ease. (I suspect that my wrist hurts from that since it's NOT 100% wool). For some crazy reason I wanted to start a blanket out of the yarns I moved to this house especially yarns that are in the stash for almost twenty years. Feather and Fan was my mother's favorite knitting pattern so whenever I work on this it reminds me of her.
What are you working on this week?
Feather and Fan is such a lovely pattern. That blanket will feel cozy. Love the socks for your husband - great colors in that yarn. Hoping your wrist feels better soon. I'm stitching, knitting on socks and reading some great books! And, of course, working (when I have to).
ReplyDeleteThose socks are cheerful and Feather and Fan always looks lovely. I hope your wrist pain resolves and you can keep knitting happily and pain-free!
ReplyDeleteFeather and Fan is really such a lovely pattern! Beautiful knitting Karen! (and the joy of having a lap-full of knitting right now is priceless!)
ReplyDeleteThe feather and fan is very pretty. How nice to use up languishing stash yarn for such a lovely project. The colorway on the sock is indeed bright and cheerful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful knitting... I love doing Feather and Fan... it always turns out so pretty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! I love the socks. It's been years since I made socks and I've been thinking about trying them again. I've got a second blanket square for memory blankets my friend group is creating for the children of a friend who recently died of cancer. Likely no knitting today, since it's a snow day and my daughter is home. Hard to count and pay attention when she's always talking! :)
ReplyDeleteI have prepped all the veggies that will be eaten today and the rice is washed and waiting to be started in the rice cooker. Making tea and if you're interested, I started a new blog: With Book and Wool Here And A Spatula And Thread There.
ReplyDeleteI made a Feather and Fan shawl and found that knitting it bothered my wrists. It is very pretty as a blanket.
ReplyDeleteLovely sock yarn, it is the perfect winter colours. I am sorry to hear that your wrists are sore, I do hope that they are pain free soon x
ReplyDeleteI love the feather and fan pattern. It looks so delicate and beautiful. I hope your wrist is feeling better soon. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe feather and fan pattern is a beautiful classic. I love that it reminds me of your Mom. I once knit a long rectangular shawl in the pattern - one of my first attempts at lace stitches and I still use it. Take good care of that wrist. I added a new project on bigger needles (for me) to help with an aching hand.
ReplyDeleteThe blanket is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love Feather and Fan, but I'm not very good at it. It requires a level of attention that I'm not always up to. But it is a gorgeous pattern and the blanket is going to be an heirloom!
ReplyDeleteThose socks 1ook fun! Hope your wrist hea1s fast. My fingers get so co1d It makes it hard to knit. IN THE HOUSE. Your feather and fan is impressive. I have a b1anket my mom made me in crochet feather and fan 40 years ago. It is acry1ic and I fee1 her when I wrap it around me
ReplyDeleteoh ugh, I hope your wrist feels better because that feather & fan is beautiful ... my mom isn't a knitter, but both of my grandmothers were. We had a feather & fan afghan from my dad's mom on our sofa growing up ... I wish I knew what happened to it!
ReplyDeleteThe socks are such a fun colour! I hope that your wrist feels better soon so that you are able to continue with these nice designs. I think that blanket will be so cosy! :)
ReplyDeleteHope that you have a nice weekend planned :)
