Weekends

Thank you for all of your lovely comments on the last post, I'm glad I'm not the only one who is saving things for a special day. I'm in good company! This weekend was nice. I tried out my new reading glasses that are just for cross stitching. So far I am quite pleased with the magnification! I'll be trying them out again in the next few days.

My progressive lens glasses are fantastic, oh the things I can see!

I finally finished a sock, so now to cast on the second sock. I love knitting socks that have no pattern and I can just knit knit knit along without much thinking.

This morning it snowed (again) and Frodo refused to do anything after a 12 hour sleep, so I have to take him back out there. He does not like cold weather at all, the older he gets the more he shivers and that is with a coat on! I guess I don't blame him at all.

How was your weekend?

Comments

  1. My weekend was busy, with packing, moving, unpacking, a broken arm in the family, and too much going on. Your cross stitch is lovely and I think it kind of looks like your new house (and how nice to be able to see what you're doing)!

  3. My weekend was lovely and warm. We were up in the 80s with plenty of sunshine. There was knitting and jig saw puzzles worked on too.

  4. Yesterday's snow was so lovely.. there was no accumulation on the streets so we could enjoy the snow without having to worry about the clean up.

  5. It was beautiful here, and we got to take a couple of nice walks and were rewarded by getting to see a woodpecker at work on one trail. (There's a short video on my blog.) Have a nice Valentine's Day!

  6. Maybe you can knit Frodo a sweater that he can wear under his cute plaid coat? Does he wear doggie snow boots too? That's a cute cross stitch design. I like CCN cottage designs. I need to bring out my stitching and move further along in them.

  7. Hooray for new glasses and good vision. The weather here was quite cold over the weekend although we ventured out on Sunday for a short walk. The new cross-stitch project looks like fun. Enjoy.

  8. The weather turned very cold here in Missouri again. I stayed in and knitted on my daughter's sweater after church on Sunday. It was a lovely weekend for that!
I used to cross stitch before I found knitting! Maybe when I retire it will be something I can pick up again. After I finish my sweaters I plan on attempting a toe down sock. I found what appears to be easy instructions on Youtube - Very Pink Knits.
    I totally agree with Frodo!

  9. It's Tuesday and the weekend seems far away! I had a fun Zoom with some teacher friends, good discussion at Torah study, and lots of quilting, Pretty good weekend!

  10. Hi Karen,
...your sock turned out really well...those are nice colours...and I love your cross-stitch house...it reminds me of a sampler my sweet sissie did years ago...and our old (17 this summer) Jack shivers with the cold too...we got him a heating pad for his blankie...we keep it on low all day long and he can lay on it whenever he wants to warm up...
    ~Have a lovely day!

  11. Hurrah for being able to see. I love your cross stitch such neat stitches. I have been doing some embroidery again, not cross stitch and my own design. My weekend was one of dodging rain, it fell all weekend in very large amounts, I had two very soggy walks!

  12. Love the design of the cross stitch and your super neat stitching. My weekend was spent very quietly catching up with mail and messages.
