Knitting News

 

I am half way done with my gnome making! I want to make eight total and I started number FIVE two days ago. The pattern calls for two strands of fingering so I substituted worsted weight on size five double pointed needles.

What I am enjoying the most is blitzing through half skeins of worsted weight wool that I've saved from previous projects along with color coordinating my gnomes. 

(In the background are two pilgrims that my sister made for me a few years ago).

    Love them. How tall are they? I normally make mine using 1 strand of fingering. Is that possible with this pattern? Or is it too fiddly? How nice to turn bits and bobs of yarn into something so cute.

    What a lovely collection of gnomes!! I like all the colors you are using and to think you only have 4 more to go!! I'm back to knitting socks, but I do have a thing or two otherwise that I'd like to cast on...time will tell.

      depending how busy I am during the day and what I need to do with 'life' I can do one in two days at the fastest and sometimes it takes three-four days if I'm busy.

    yes simple twists and I use a spare DPN to do them!

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
