Missing the Country
Yesterday we drove up to visit my dad and step mom in the country. I worked on my husband's sock in the car but quickly set it aside to enjoy the countryside. Being in the country reminds me of where I used to live and the beautiful dirt road that I used to walk with Frodo. I do love my walks in my neighborhood but I miss the country (NOT the bears). I do like living here and it's so nice to be near family!
My husband and I went out for a lunch at the local park on one of the warmer days so that we could eat out on their patio overlooking the pond. The views were spectacular!
Frodo was recently groomed this week and he's been shivering since. Every morning I have to bundle him in a blanket. If I put a sweater on him he refuses to walk and stands like a statue so we use blankets to warm him up. The next grooming appointment will be a 'winter' cut and we'll leave more hair on him.
It does seem like fall is over far too soon, and I'll really feel that way when we turn the clocks back. Enjoy what's left and keep poor Frodo warm!
ReplyDeleteThere is something special about fall in the country. I feel the same way every time we visit NH. It's something in the air. I wish it would last longer : )
ReplyDeleteFall always seems to leave too quickly. I do enjoy having four seasons though, that's for sure. Maybe you need to knit a special blanket for Frodo!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe Frodo needs a hand knit sweater too ;-)
ReplyDeleteLovely fall colors. I do enjoy seeing them on so many blogs.
I agree with you... each season has such beauty. This fall has been spectacular.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall views. Your trip to the country to visit your dad and step mom sounds so good. I hope you have a good weekend. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteAwww, poor Frodo. Your lunch views were spectacular. Enjoy what is left of Autumn.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful autumn photos. Frodo is lucky to have you to take such good care of him. He is a faithful friend. October is my favorite month and doesn't last long enough. The older I get the faster time goes.
ReplyDeleteWe've actually had fall this year. Normally we go straight from upper 90's to the low 40's with no inbetween. It's been awesome!
