Weekends
What a delight to wake up to some snow on Sunday morning! Sadly they are calling for rain later this week and all of the snow will disappear. How are you? How was your weekend?
I wrapped Christmas gifts yesterday and I am mostly done. I even tidied up the wrapping area. There's a few more presents left but those can be tucked into a gift bag. I'm in the process of moving away from using wrapping paper which is not recyclable and using gift bags instead.
I have yet to write and plot out the menu this week, it's on my 'to do' list. How was your weekend?
Your snow is pretty - I hope it lasts for you. We have had rain and lots of wind (I am not a fan of wind). My weekend was relaxing...now I need to buckle down and pack!
ReplyDeleteThe snow is such a treat! That first snow makes my inner child just leap for joy! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely snow you got. Gift bags are my go to wrapping. There are so many types now a days. Last week of Advent! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYou are well-organized! One year I bought Christmas fabric after Christmas when it was on sale and started sewing gift bags. It was one of the best things I've done, and I usually sew a few more each year. It makes "wrapping" so much easier!
ReplyDeleteAdorable little penguin. I will take snow over rain.. it's much prettier. Happy Holidays.
ReplyDeleteWe had snow here too but it is all gone now, we have had a ridiculous rise in temperatures here. I love the idea of using gift bags instead of wrapping paper, you are right it is so wasteful. I think I am going for fabric with ribbon. You cards are delightful, I am assuming those are homemade?
ReplyDeleteyes, I painted them!
DeleteSome wrapping paper is recycleable except if it has metallic. At least it is in my area. Whether or not it actually gets recycled is another story. I do make sure to reuse boxes and even tissue paper if it is not too crinkled. I even keep bows and ribbons. I do like the idea of reusing bags each year though. Your snow is pretty. We are supposed to get a whole lot of rain Thursday and Friday and then bitter cold for Christmas Eve and Day. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty sweet cards. We had a little wet snow this morning and perhaps a little more later this week. We went to a beautiful church service on Sunday. The weather was cold and windy but I walked both days because the bitter cold is coming this evening. Other than the fact that my back went out yesterday (gah), we had a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love your hand-drawn and painted Christmas cards! How do I get on your list? Glad you had a nice weekend. I have been using gift bags, but this year decided to use up some of the wrapping paper rolls that have been collecting dust in the basement for several years. I love the idea that one of your commenters had of sewing gift bags! I hope you have a wonderful and peaceful Christmas week. P.S. I love that hanging of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Was that in your church? Merry Christmas to all!
ReplyDeleteyes it was in our church and I just loved the image and art work I had to snap a photo!
