Weekends

Good morning! How was your weekend? After last week mentioning the endless rain, I'm happy to report our weather switched to snow. It's pretty to look at and it's a nice change.

My weekend was a socializing one. My husband and I attended our grand-nephew's second birthday. He was sweet to watch with a room full of people celebrating his big day. Of course there was cake and tons of family to catch up with.

Afterwards some family came to our house to continue the socializing. We had pizza and played a board game. Seeing family on a regular basis is one of the reasons I moved here.

Sunday afternoon I had an art date with my sister and I started on some Valentine Cards. We drank tea and painted - these watercoloring sessions filled my creative heart.

During the entire weekend I feverishly read (but did not finish) Stephen King's book Fairytale. I'm over half way through and it's captivating. I also worked on the scarf that is getting closer and closer to being finished. My husband wore another pair of hand knitted socks thread bare. This week I'm digging through the sock yarn stash and casting on another pair. I might have thrown four pairs away this fall/winter!! (completely unrepairable).

 How was your weekend?

  1. Such cute cards for Valentine's Day! And snow...we have not had any! I do wish we would. It's raining here which I don't like. I need to find some more blue yarn to knit socks for Fletch. The ones I made him are too tight! My weekend was so nice - lots of knitting and stitching and reading. I call that perfect!

  8. What sweet Valentine cards. Your weekend sounds very nice. That bunch of scarf looks so cozy. I look forward to seeing it finished and blocked. We finally had a little snow this past week - Wednesday and Saturday. Alas a lot of of it melted today but it was beautiful while it lasted.
