Hopefulness

How has your week been?

I'm excited to tell you all about the crocuses that are blooming while we had an unusual warm up that is ending today. My husband was working in our little woods and shared a photo with me. Then yesterday, I was in the front yard and spotted these crocuses blooming. I hope it isn't too early for them. Sadly where the snowdrops usually bloom, the deer have been nibbling on them.

Frodo has been having a rough week. We went on two walks last Sunday and he must have strained or did something to his back, that is the best guess we can get between our observations and conversations with the vet.

Monday morning, Miss Holly had a vet checkup and we expended all our energy catching her and putting her in her carrier that she detests. Well she detests being caught as well.  So while we were there we discussed her brother's ailments. So Frodo has been on 'bedrest' -- meaning no lengthy walks and has some pain medication. He is improving and for that I am so grateful for witnessing.

My daily haikus are going strong and the little sketches are also coming along just nicely. I find myself doing whatever it is I am caught up with everyday living and then 'poof' I have an idea for a poem. I like the randomness of my ideas and how they are mostly nature related.

I am done with the first sock and will be casting on the second sock this afternoon. I did not snap a photo.

Thanks for visiting and reading, as always I appreciate and value this little space that connects us together.

  6. Our crocuses are in bloom also, but temps in the 20s tonight will most likely kill them. I hope Frodo feels better soon.

  8. I do love delicate crocuses they look like they should not be able to survive the cold temperatures of this time of year. Your painting is lovely. I couldn't help noticing the shape of your fingernails which are same as mine, that could be my hand in your photo, how weird is that?

  9. Love that little crocus photo! Hope Frodo is feeling better now. Things here haven't been so great here this week. Our son-in-law's dad passed away on Friday, and we just learned that our son has COVID for the second time. Luckily though, our son isn't very ill, and the one other good thing is that Brent's dad is no longer suffering like he has been for almost a year.
