Home Sweet Home

Good morning!

How is everyone this morning? I was away visiting my mother-in-law for most of the week with my husband and returned home yesterday afternoon. Oh my, the older I get the more I am a homebody thru and thru. This visit was challenging because I had some weird stomach bug the day I arrived and could barely function.

Thankfully it was short lived but the recovery phase was long and I still don't feel quite like myself. It was nice to see family but it was even nicer to be home. Sadly I did not take many photos. I did knit in the car though!

Believe it or not, the sun is out! I feel like a vampire squinting and shielding my eyes, ha ha. Later today after the BIG blog reading catch up and internet stuff catch up, I'll walk Frodo and soak in the sunshine. Maybe it'll be warm enough to sit on the back patio.

Gratitudes: -my bed - my kitchen - my coffee mug - my coffee! - silence - Frodo snuggles - phone calls from the kids - mighty to do lists! - big salads - sunshine

All of the garden photos are from my yard.

  1. I wondered where you were on Wednesday...sorry about the stomach bug, but I bet your husband was happy to see his Mom. I'm a homebody too. I do like getting away, but coming home is like the icing on a cake! Hope you can get out in the sun and enjoy it. Still a bit chilly here, but after heavy fog early, the sun is out and shining brightly now. If only it would warm up a little...

  3. I hope you feel better so you can enjoy the beautiful weekend ahead. I'm glad you said "silence" in your grateful list. I relish silence after we've been away, then feel guilty for thinking like that! :)

  7. Yes, there truly is no place like home. So glad your go visit your mom-in-law with your husband. I hope you are getting over the stomach bug. That's not fun at all, but the visit and coming home sound very nice. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

  9. What a nice photo of you three! I went hiking last week and also found trillium, no white ones like yours, but some burgandy ones.
