Weekends

Good morning to all of you, I hope you had a restful weekend. This past weekend was super boring and just what I needed after all the travels we had the weekend before in Cambridge MA. On Saturday morning, my sister and I took a long walk through the neighborhood and the adjoining trail through the woods that left me feeling exhausted, but the good kind of exhausted.

My husband and I spent lots of time on the back patio with Frodo, reading or eating or both. Sometimes it just gets too hot out there and so I go back inside. Because of my intense desire for fall, and yet we are a long ways away from an awesome season, I started a pair of fingerless mitts for me. After this pair, I will make a pair for my husband. Doing this has help my yearnings for cold weather, for now.

I did a lot of laundry (!) and list making for the upcoming week. How was your weekend?

  1. These muggy days are really draining. I cleaned out some garden beds over the weekend and I think the heat makes little work feel like a lot! I am hoping today's rain does not fizzle out and we get some actual measurable precipitation! Have a good week!

  2. I did a lot of cooking (which I lovve) and a bunch of knitting and stitching. Today's agenda includes work (boring) and laundry.

  3. I hope that knitting fingerless mitts helps to speed up the arrival of fall! If it seems to be working, I might join you in some fall knitting.

  4. Still too hot here to enjoy the outdoors. Went to Mass, did a food pick up for our churches food bank, painted pottery with grandkids and her friends and knit. Glad you are at least able to sit outside for bits of time. Fresh air and sunshine are good for the mind and body.

  5. We enjoyed the summery weather....not too hot here in Western NY this weekend. Glad I was able to get in the pool. Only a few weeks of pool weather left. I'll be looking forward to mitten progress in the next post.

  6. I like the color of those mittens. They look very much like autumn. We had a nice quiet weekend that included church and a coffee pickup on Sunday. I made a bunch of lists on Sunday for this week and next as we are having company.
