Weekends
How was your weekend?
Thank you so much for the well wishes, I am feeling much better. Modern medicine has yet to fail me.
My weekend was fun! On Saturday, we had my sister and brother in law over for dinner and dessert. I made chili, cornbread, salad and a pumpkin pie. I celebrated fall.
On Sunday, we drove to southeastern Ohio for the day for our granddaughter's baptism. Afterwards we attended a little luncheon. We had fun seeing everyone and being with family. Our grandson was great fun, full of smiles and hugs. Our ride home was slightly delayed due to a major accident on the highway, my family in another car was stuck in that traffic jam due to the highway being shut down for over four hours.
I am grateful I was home by dinner time and felt awful for my aunt and cousins who didn't get home until 9:30 - 10:00 in the evening.
I worked on my grandson's Christmas sweater in the car and had a wonderful time knitting a short project.
That was a quick visit but for a good reason! I'm glad you feel better and had plenty of car knitting time.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a great visit, but ugh for that traffic issue. I am reveling in a rainy Monday!
ReplyDeleteBaptisms are wonderful! Exciting about the Christmas knitting
ReplyDeleteYou are the second blogger I follow making the flax sweater for a grand baby. It looks like a great pattern and so many sizes. The parish where the baptism took place looks so 9retty. I am sure it was a perfect day. So glad to hear modern medicine wins again against a arthritic flare!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen. So glad you could attend the baptism. Traffic jams are no fun at all! I love the sweater you are making for your grandson. I hope you have a good week. See you again soon.
ReplyDeleteOh that traffic. The new little sweater looks warm and cozy. I'm glad you traveled to and from the baptism safely in spite of the traffic jam.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good weekend, apart from the traffic jam. That first photo, of the church... wow . It looks beautiful ! Must feel quite special to attend a service there.
ReplyDeletethat sounds like a FULL weekend. how wonderful that so much family was able to be there for the baptism. Our weekend was spent close to home - baseball, walks (me) and football/golf (Marc) - which also gave me time to knit and read. (a real win/win!)
ReplyDeleteIm glad you made it home safe and sound. The little sweater is going to be so nice. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
