The Beginning

The beginning of Christmas has entered my house along with the holiday cheer. We are exchanging presents with my dad and step mom at Thanksgiving (which I am hosting at my home) and my daughter and son in law have never seen Christmas at my house.

I have about four lists written up for the next two weeks and have another list in my head that needs to be put on paper. Besides hosting 15 family members on Thanksgiving day, my family (adult children and grands) will be staying between 3-10 days. So before I forget, I will be posting here intermittently from now until the beginning of December.

While I was down in the basement bringing up the Christmas decoration boxes, I discovered a water pipe leak, and so my day today is waiting for the plumber. A forced day at home.

Also before I forget, my hands are feeling so much better! I am nearly recovered from the gnome knitting abuse.

  4. Your Christmas decorations are so nice, Karen! How wonderful that you get to have your adult children and grandchildren there for so long! That sounds like Heaven to me if I were able to have both of our kids and their families with us for Christmas. Enjoy!

  9. We had to have a visit from the plumber last week too. Clogged drain. Sigh. Your lovely large Thanksgiving sounds like fun. Our day will likely just be Charly and I - maybe we will invite some empty nester friends to join us. All of our kids will be elsewhere. I will probably put some decorations up this weekend too - at least I hope I get time to do that. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. See you when you return to blogland!

  11. Enjoy all the Thanksgiving festivities with family. Your snowman decor is wonderful. We will just be the two of us with my mother in law. We celebrated with our daughter and her family last weekend. Christmas decorating will begin December 1st. Outdoor decor will be done on the first warm day following Thanksgiving.

  12. Having plumbing issues can be a bummer when it is a holiday season but it's great you found it before it could have been way worse. I loved your post.https://www.bauchlefashion.com/2023/11/why-real-real-is-number-one-place-to.html
