Weekends

I survived the heat wave. This morning is glorious! I cannot wait to walk Frodo and be comfortable while being outside. It's the simple things of life. How was your weekend? Mine was lusciously boring. I finished the Civil War book after marathon reading for three days. All I did was read. I enjoyed the book and yet I will not be starting another non fiction book that is nearly 900 pages of reading any time soon.

Besides reading, I started on the second leg warmer and have made steady progress, it's my nighttime knitting where mistakes are minimal and the thinking is minimal as well. I also started a pair of mittens for me but I will talked about that project on Wednesday.

I do not have any classes this week except Tai Chi. Next week is a week off from summer classes before the second summer session begins. I love having the time off.

May you have cooler weather! How was your weekend?

  1. Like just about everyone else, our weekend was HOT (and this week it is still hot here). I stayed inside and read, knit and stitched some. And fixed cold dinners (cold shrimp and lots of cool salads.

  2. It's good to know that cooler weather has reached you and is hopefully heading our way. It's still hot and humid this morning but I have high hopes for opening the windows tonight!

  3. I am in bliss with all the windows open!! I am grateful for the AC, but my gosh, I really dislike a close in house!

  4. Hiw nice your weather cooled iff for you. We are heading I to our humid as well as hot, time of year. I did see raindrops fall from the sky Saturday. But it was short lived. I am still knitting on the Habitation Throw. I am also getting back Into my cross stitch. Much cooler than having yarn in my lap.

  5. We had a storm last night and it has been wonderful. Not only do the gardens look happier, but it has also helped to cool the HOT temps down! We are happy!

  7. Your weekend sounds lovely ... mine was HOT, and I was out and about a bit which was HOT, but I did see one baseball game (and Sam's team won), helped out with Katie's dog, and enjoyed two early walks to the lake (it wasn't cool, but it was ok ... and the early morning sunshine felt nice).

  8. I’m also glad to survive the heat wave. Yesterday and today was lovely with cool breezes and gentle sunshine, perfect for walks with my little doggie!

  10. I'll bet with his dark fur he was very happy when it cooled off, too. It's pretty warm here when it gets into the eighties, and I can't quite imagine the heat some of you have been experiencing.

  11. Reading on summer days reminds me of the being a girl, riding my bike to the library, and choosing enough books so the basket wasn't too heavy. Then I read through the hot afternoons. I bet Frodo does enjoy the cooler summer days. I want to find one meaty book I can sink my teeth into this summer but one might be enough for me.
