July Beginnings
Frodo is feeling better again. His vet followup appointment for repeat bloodwork is in two weeks. It's nice that he's acting like himself more, barking at everyone and no one in particular, he loves to look out the window and watch the neighborhood, like Mrs. Kravitz from Bewitched.
Summer days are reading days for me. I love sinking into a book and I try my best not to wish away the heat and humidity. I am grateful for the air conditioning and for living in a place where there are four seasons. I'm an oddball for loving winter, which is my all time favorite with fall being my runner-up. Summer is my dead last in the seasons.
I'm glad Frodo is doing better and I hope you enjoy your quiet days of summer reading.
ReplyDeleteI am ever so glad that dear Frodo is doing well... I chucked at the Mrs. Kravitz thought. Go dear Frodo... bark away! I hope your weekend is the perfect calm before the storm!
ReplyDeleteWe had a quiet holiday as well, Karen. It was too hot and humid to do much so we both decided to take the day off to relax.
ReplyDeleteI am glad Frodo is feeling better. The cone flower is so so pretty. Summer is a great time for reading. I can still remember that feeling when school let out for summer with all those free days ahead. I spent a lot of time reading as I wasn't crazy about hanging out at the pool with other kids my age. I like winter too.
ReplyDeleteThat coneflower is beautiful. We are just getting summer weather here. Time to read on the deck and cast on some socks.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I am so grateful for ac as well...but you won't find me complaining about summer or its heat. I love summer! So glad Frodo is enjoying his best life again:)
ReplyDeleteThe Secret Garden is a lovely story. We read it recently with the kids before seeing it as a ballet. I am like Mary and Colin at times, and must remember how a positive outlook makes everything better.
ReplyDeleteThe Secret Garden was a favourite for me as a child. I think I may have read it several times! When I visit estate gardens in the UK, I often think of the walled garden with the key!
