Knitting News

Good morning! How are you?

There is something so satisfying as to be knitting a wool sweater during an oppressive heat wave. I know it's crazy, but it's true. I feel so defiant! I've been enjoying this knit and the promise of cooler weather in my future. Also if you know me, you know that I love to knit with thin wool, so knitting with worsted weight wool feels fast and furious!

I finished the mini leg warmers a few days ago. I did not enjoy knitting these because the yarn kept splitting. They are a gift that I believe will be well received.

What are you working on this week?

  1. Like you, I am knitting a wool sweater (although only in the afternoons after Steve gets home and the AC is turned to "deep freeze" mode!)

  2. The legwarmers are pretty even if the yarn wasn't much fun. I can barely stand knitting my Hitch on the Move in this weather so a wool sweater is not in my WIPs!

  3. We don’t have any AC so I am sticking with socks and a cowl while I sit in front of the fan. I love that orange yarn 🥰

  4. I have some yarn to use for a sweater I hope to make someday. My afghan will not be big and "warm" until fall! thank goodness! Love those cute legwarmers!

  5. The leg warmers turned out great and you already know I love the color of your sweater. I'm kind of bored with my sock(s) and Shakerag skirt and my hands get sticky knitting. BUT...I'm thinking of casting on a new shawl anyway! LOL

  6. I am just debating starting a new knit sweater as a gift for my daughter. I like those leg warmers. I am looking forward to watching your latest knitting project.

  7. The leg warmers are very pretty even if they weren't much fun to knit. The sweater yarn is a wonderful autumn color. I'm working on a summer top and a pair of socks.

  8. I'm working to finish up some cotton and silk (summer!) projects ... and looking forward to wool, but it's going to be a bit longer....
