Weekends

Good afternoon! How are you? How was your weekend?

Ta Da! I pulled out some paints and I painted a tiny picture over the weekend - I felt creative and Frodo approves of my skills. Also this weekend I worked on the lace shawl and am so close to the end.

We didn't do much this weekend, at Mass I nearly passed out because it doesn't have AC (this is my childhood church that is very old) so I guess we are going to an AC Church until the fall. No one else looked hot, even the priest with all of his garb. So it's me and my autoimmune condition. Heat and/or sun are just awful for me.

I've been enjoying sitting on the back patio and some quiet time there.

  1. How nice to see your painting again. I'm in Frodo's camp - I heartily approve. I am bothered by heat and humidity, but thankfully not to the extent you are. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Your lace shawl is beautiful Karen.

  2. Your little paintings are very cute. Frodo has excellent taste. It was quite warm in our parish this weekend too. I thought it was just me but when I saw the Deacon wiping sweat off his face during communion I knew something was wrong with the A/C. I bet you will be glad to get the lace shawl completed and blocked. It will be so pretty.

  3. Your paintings are beautiful.

I can't stand the heat anymore. It makes me feel quite ill. Hard to believe I survived 30+ years in Florida. I guess old age is creeping up on me.

  4. I've never liked heat and humidity and like it even less as I get older. Your lace and art are lovely!

  5. You have quite the talent for painting - thank you for sharing a few pieces with us. Of course it "does not compute" to have any sort of building without A/C ... I hope you have a good alternative for mass until the weather cools off. Church here, just like the grocery store, is a place you need to wear a sweater...

  6. Your painting is sooooo pretty and so is your knitting. It has been hot here too in MA.....my son gets married on July 6th...Thank GOD there is AC at the reception.....I certainly understand how you feel. ;-)

  7. Your shawl is lovely and your painting and sketching continue to amaze me. I have no talent in that area and I surely admire yours. I am sorry that the heat and humidity are so hard on your system. It's hard to imagine a large building without A/C these days but they do exist. I hope you find a suitable alternative for Mass.

  8. My friend, I truly understand about the heat and how it affects you. I'm the same way with the fibromyalgia. Love your painting!

  9. I love your painting. I don't do very well without AC in the summer either. I love the color or your shawl. Beautiful!

  10. Your scarf is beautiful, the color as well as the pattern... I know, because I used to knit a lot before I started sewing.
In April I finished knitting a jacket out of cotton yarn and I enjoy wearing it.
Many greetings to you from Viola.
I hope you enjoy your beautiful scarf and also have fun painting your beautiful pictures.

  11. Your scarf is so pretty. Feminine and fancy....love the color. I love it when you share your paintings. These two seem more detailed. I'm glad you had time to do them in between the heat episodes. Have a good week.
