How was your weekend?

On Saturday, my local family arrived for a picnic at my house. We sat outside for about an hour then headed indoors because the heat became too much. Most of Saturday morning, I got ready for the picnic. I'm so grateful that family brought dishes to share which made my work in the kitchen manageable. After everyone left, I had the house put back together again before I went to bed.

Did I take a photo? Nope. I was in the moment!

On Sunday morning, I went to 7:30 am Mass then came home to do one load of laundry since I did much of the laundry the day before my work was easy. I rested the whole afternoon and evening. I read a ton and knitted a little bit.  As you can see, I am knitting the sweater and I still have that last leg warmer to finish up. It will be done today!

    Family gatherings are fun gatherings, especially if you have a place to escape the heat. I'm glad you got everything back together, and I hope you have a few picnic leftovers, too!

    Sounds like a nice weekend...mix of fun and relaxing...and of course fabulous knitting. I'm impressed that you were all cleaned up from the party before you went to bed! yea!

    Sounds like a great weekend. Family days always wear me.out but I wouldn't trade them for anything. Sunday is also my day of rest and working on crafting projects.

    I'm glad your local family could come for a picnic. Isn't it nice to have everything back the way it "should be" before bed? I just love the color you are using for your sweater. That will be a gorgeous Fall piece.

    My family all lives close and we don't get together often enough ... so glad y'all made the time to be together. One of the senior ladies I volunteer with is knitting the Felix Cardigan - I'll see her again next week and will share your progress photos for encouragement if that's ok?

    A family picnic sounds lovely. I especially like the informality and conviviality of everyone bringing a dish to contribute. I smile when I read that you had the house put back together again. I suspect you are a bit like me. I enjoy getting ready and hosting but it is therapeutic to make order after everyone goes home. I have admired the Felix Sweater so I'll enjoy following your progress.

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
