Weekends

Good morning! How was your weekend?

As you can see, I didn't take many photos over the weekend. Maybe I was fully present in what I was doing or I forgot to take some photos. Either way, it was a great weekend. The mornings have been cool enough to be chilly (brr) on our daily walks.  We are officially one third of the way through the summer season.

Saturday, I did laundry and finished reading The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store, which I loved. This was a library loan so the clock was ticking for me to read it within the three week period. I'm still reading The Secret Garden and hope to finish that book by the end of the week.

Sunday, we drove up to see my dad and step mom to celebrate his birthday along with my sister and brother in law. The drive takes an hour, so I pack for a 'day trip'. I knitted on a sock while I was there. Lunch was good and I snapped that photo above on their property.

How was your weekend?

  2. What a sweet bird house. How nice your weather has cooled.off in the mornings. Soon it will be sweater weather for your walks. Car knitting is always good. Makes drive time go faster. Have a blessed day.

  3. I'm sure that your dad was happy to have both his daughters and their spouses there with him to celebrate his birthday! That's such a blessing. Both of my parents and both of my husband's parents have now passed away and miss having those opportunities to celebrate with them.

  4. Sounds like a nice weekend. I love The Secret Garden, except every time I read it, I long for a secret garden of my own.... and I can not grow a plant outdoors to save my life. Can't wait to see your sock.

  5. It's hard for me to remember to take pictures to share when I am doing things. I too am reading books on loan from the library so I am trying hard to get all 3 done. Probably won't make it but I'll make an effort... LOL! Knitting is suffering a bit at this time.

  6. I've been doing more reading than knitting or stitching. What a cute birdhouse and I'm jealous of you visiting your Dad and Step-Mom. I miss my parents buckets.

  7. It is always so much fun to go on visits....and fun to return home. We drove 2 1/2 hours away for our granddaughter's first birthday party. However, the poor thing woke up with an allergic reaction to something. Her daddy used to do that all the time too. Violet ended up at the ER in the middle of her party. She is on the mend now....was given a shot and is on prednisone now. I felt so bad for my daughter in law as she planned a wonderful party and when your baby is so sick you are just so worried.

I was looking for your email so I could email you a question about RA......but, I can't find it. :-(

  8. I like a nice day trip and one to see family is the best. It's nice to read a post from someone who seems happy and content.
