Ocean Socks

Yesterday evening I finished these socks which will be a Christmas gift. I hope the gift recipient will love them. I created a simple design to break up the monotony of the stockinette knitting. I did 4 rows of stockinette, 1 purl row, 4 rows of 1x1 ribbing, 1 purl row. Then I repeated that. It was a nice diversion.

Thank you for your well wishes and happy thoughts about Frodo. He was the best dog ever and he is living free and easy in doggie heaven. We have Holly (the cat) to devote all of our love and attention to for now. She is the Queen Bee of the house!! We are adjusting to all the free time we have now that we are not taking care of an elderly dog. Bittersweet!

What are you working on this week?

  1. Those are great socks; the colors just glow! I'm sure you'll be missing Frodo for a long time. Even Holly might miss him, but I'm sure she's enjoying being the Queen!

  3. What gorgeous socks Karen! And I love the idea of your pattern. Great way to keep boredom at bay. I'm betting that Holly also misses Frodo...it will take time for all of you to adjust. Go easy on yourself. I thought of you yesterday as I walked with a flannel shirt on and was chilly! It was absolutely delightful.

  4. Karen, I love these socks! What fun colors. I understand caring for an elderly pet. My Lewey turned 17 this past week. He doesn't get around very well at all. I try not to complain about his feebleness. I know I will miss him when he is gone.

  5. The socks turned out so nice, Karen. They look cozy and warm. Our Border Collie was 15 years old when she passed and we still miss her. I've been praying for you with your loss. Adjustment can be hard.
