Weekends

Good morning! How was your weekend?

Another photo of Holly being a brave soul. She is a delight!

My weekend was a mix of relaxing, socializing with family or visiting with family. On Saturday, I took a long walk in the neighborhood wearing a jacket and feeling cold to my bones. I loved it! Once again, the hot weather will be making a come back but hopefully the evening temperatures will be chilly and take the sting out of the warmth. My sister and brother in law came over for dinner and game board night. We always have fun together and laugh a lot.

On Sunday I attended 7:30 a.m. Mass (gulp!) then my sister and I drove up to see my dad and step-mom for a visit and a lunch. We had a nice time visiting them. Once home, I rested, read my books and did some laundry.

Today my classes start. I am taking a few history classes, one on the Korean War and another about the time in between WWI and WWII. I'm also taking two religious courses, one about reflective prayer and another about the Gospel of Luke. My all time favorite is Tai Chi. It's a busy semester, I usually only take three classes but I was wild and crazy this semester with five for the first half of the session. The second session is more history and religious classes but only four classes.

Please note that because of my classes starting and some future family events, my posting here on this space might be twice a week in the next four weeks or so. I'd like to believe that I can do it all, but sometimes I cannot fit everything thing in.

  1. A whole class on the Korean war? I should read up about it. My daughter is in Seoul with her boyfriend right now.

  2. I’m in awe of you taking classes, good for you and such inspiring subjects to be taking too. I’m so happy cooler weather has arrived you, I am stoked about our temperatures here in Phoenix later in the week, in the 90s which means cooler weather is finally coming.

  3. Your classes sound so interesting. I'm curious: is it only seniors in your class? And what size are the classes? Holly IS a brave soul...and so lucky that you found her and adopted her. I wonder if she remembers those early days.

  6. I'm glad that Holly is enjoying herself with the window seat. And I'm especially glad she is keeping you good company. I know how much that matters after a pup is gone.

Good luck with your classes! You're a lot more ambitious than I'll ever be, but I hope you'll let us know how they go.

  10. You are ambitious with all your classwork. I predict you will learn a lot. How fun to have your sister nearby. My hat is off to you for getting to church at 7:30 a.m. We think we are doing well to get to our 9:00 a.m. service.
