Chrysanthemums

Good morning! How are you?

My past week was filled with classes and appointments. I am ready for a super boring weekend! In the above photo are the mums (chrysanthemums) I bought in memory of dear Frodo (who I miss so much!) and they are now blooming. So far the deer are leaving them alone. Sometimes you never know what the deer will eat up.  I love seeing my flowers and remembering our sweet boy!

Holly the cat is getting ever so bold and brave now that her nemesis is gone. She still checks the loveseat where he slept which I find quite funny. She is very concerned that he might be there. She now lays in sunbeams in the kitchen and comes visit me briefly while I am knitting. Maybe one day she will snuggle.

I had a cardiology appointment last week to discuss shortness of breath while exercising and he decided to discontinue one of my blood pressure meds (yay) thinking that is what was causing my symptoms. As a precaution he ordered an exercise stress test which I did yesterday. Of course I didn't pass with flying colors so now I'm wearing a monitor for a week. They did let me leave the hospital so I assume it isn't life threatening. I have no idea if he is ordering any other tests.

In the below photo, you can see my second sock progression. Also I picked up that book while in Boston, Master Slave Husband Wife, based on true accounts of a couple who escaped slavery. It is so good!!

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

  1. I'm sorry to hear about the cardiology woes and I hope things go well after the aggravation of wearing the monitor. But it's still better to know what is going on and get it treated!

  4. I love the mums in the fall. Hubby is not as big of a fan and would be happy if we did not have any...on our front porch (we don't have any planted) but I always manage at least a couple! Praying all goes well with your monitor testing.

  5. Hope all your monitoring provides good news. This getting older thing is not easy.

The mum is beautiful. Hearing that Holly is coming out of her shell is great news.

  6. I'm sorry to hear about you not passing the stress test with flying colors. I am trusting that the heart monitor will give the doctor the information he needs to take care of everything for you. You are in my prayers.

I really like the color of the Frodo mums .

And that book is going on my wish list. I just recently watched a movie with a similar theme. Angela Lansbury was in it

  8. So sorry to hear about the health troubles. I have done that stress test and monitor stuff in the past. I have had breathing troubles when exercising since I was a kid, but it seems to be just the way I am. I hope you get good news. I love the color of your sock yarn.

  9. The mums are such a pretty color. I am sure you do miss sweet Frodo. I hope the cardiology tests provide good information and you don't need further tests. The sock is pretty and I hope it keeps you good company on your lovely ordinary weekend.

  11. I have been thinking about your post for a few days. The pain of loosing a pet is so hard. It has been over a year since we lost Luna and it still is a bit raw. Pla ting flowers in remembrance is such a lovely thing. I am hoping Holly will eventually become curious about your knitting and will come and join you. I hope your monitor shows nothing of great concern.
