Fall Flower Show

Good morning to you all, how are you? How has your week been? Mine has been great, my school schedule is winding down for a break then I start back up with some classes in a few weeks but I will be less busy (at least it looks less busy on paper, I will find out if I feel less busy).

Yesterday the back patio awning was taken down for the winter season. A sign of winter approaching!  I continue to take daily walks but now they are in the middle of the day instead of early in the morning. I love the rhythms of the seasons and adapting to the weather.

My husband and I went to the conservatory in Pittsburgh to see their fall flower show yesterday. We had a great time and enjoyed the myriad of mums on display. Some of my favorite sections were closed off which was a bummer but hopefully they will be done renovating those spaces soon. I'm sure it's difficult to renovate while trying to keep the conservatory open to visitors.

I'm still knitting daily and enjoying my time with wool. Knitting is one of the best mood boosters! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

  1. I am missing our local garden center these days. It was a wonderful place to wander through seasonal garden displays. It was very much like a conservatory. I am inspired by you to find a way to add new learning to my days this winter.

  4. Hi Karen. That conservatory you visited is beautiful! What a great place to be able to visit. We had snow in the our nearby mountains last night so fall is here and winter not far behind. I hope you have a nice, relaxing weekend.See you again soon!

  5. Do you go to the conservatory in December for their Christmas display? I have a cousin who does that every year and she has shared some of her pictures. SO beautiful! We live about two hours from Pittsburgh.

  8. I don't think any of our local gardens or nurseries have fall flower shows. Most of what they do are big pumpkin displays. I am enjoying midday walks now also.
