Knitting News
Good morning! How are you?
My oh my, did I have a busy long weekend but more about that later on in the week. My knitting halted when my kids and grandkids were visiting. As soon as everyone left on Monday morning, I was digging in my knitting bag returning once again to my newly cast-on throw that I decided to do with three skeins of yarn from stash. I have since changed my mind and am using scraps as much as possible for the throw with the light pink skein as a base. I'll let you know what I think as I go along. The uncertainty of wool amounts have me questioning this decision but I'm up for the mystery and the challenge I guess.
What are you working on this week?
I stumbled upon the mitered squares "leftover" project this week. I tucked it into my knitting bag by the television... it will be very good to pick that up occasionally on these getting dark early evenings!
ReplyDeleteI am making this same throw using leftovers of a lot of sock yarn. I have a few balls that are bigger but most of mine are 12-15g so when I get to the wider sections, they won’t go very far. There is some uncertainty in my mind but I am hoping to let this project just flow. When I look at the project board for this throw they are all so lovely and look very unplanned. It will be fun to do this together.
ReplyDeleteI like the start to your throw and your collection of pink yarns looks impressive. I think the throw is a good project - mystery, challenge, and once you get to a certain length it will keep you warm while you knit!
ReplyDeleteI have gone hat crazy after many years of thinking I'd never bother knitting again! I was into making crochet blankets at one time but I'm liking the almost instant gratification of hat making. I'm improving my skills which is very pleasing......knitting in the round now holds no fear for me....
ReplyDeleteSo far I've not had to buy a pattern, isn't Ravelry great? 😀
I like the pink base colour of your project and will watch with interest to see how it grows.

Such pretty colors for your newest project. I know you just knit a Musselburgh and I am thinking of doing that too!!
ReplyDeleteA mystery! Can't wait to see how it works out for you.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of scarp blankets!
ReplyDeleteHaving the grandkid over always takes up my time too.
ReplyDeleteI imagine you did have a very busy but I hope happy weekend. I think all the scraps will work out just fine. Unless you think it best, the longer stripes don't have to be all from the same yarn. I'd just go with the flow. It's a very forgiving scrappy project.
ReplyDeleteThose colors will look so good together!
ReplyDeleteLook at how well all those scraps go together - that throw looks like a great project to make great use of them.
DeleteLoving the yarn you have chosen for your throw, those colours look lovely together.
