Weekends

Hello! How was your weekend?

My weekend was filled with cleaning the house which set off some allergies but I am recovering. I guess when you rarely dust, then dust, you're going to go through some things. Will this make me dust more? I doubt it. Are you wondering why I'm cleaning? We have the kids (both of them) coming this coming weekend and I have tasks to do every single day leading up to Friday in the hopes that I am not doing everything the last minute.

On Saturday and Sunday, we had beautiful weather and I walked the neighborhood enjoying the blue skies and endless sunshine. I read some, I knit some and I tried to make the weekend feel like a weekend. We even ordered pizza! On Sunday after Mass, I wrote out a detailed TO DO list so I do not get overwhelmed.

I spent a ton of time on Ravelry, trying to decide on my next knitting projects and failed. I have some ideas but nothing definite. I find patterns I like but do not have the yarn, I have yarn that I like but cannot find a pattern.

I started the ever popular hat pattern, Musselburgh, in mid-October and I am steadily knitting away enjoying the mindless stockinette stitching. I will definitely be making more of these hats!

Because my family is visiting for a long weekend, I will probably not be posting on Friday and definitely not on the following Monday.

How was your weekend?

  1. I often think I should dust more, but that has never once motivated me to actually dust more! Enjoy your family and knitting Musselburgh.

  2. I laughed right out loud at those dusting comments! I am considering myself in good company in the Infrequent Dusting Sisterhood! What fun to look forward to though... and I love your yarn for that Musselburgh hat!

  3. I had one of those "don't leave the house" weekends! I did do some grocery shopping early Saturday but the rest of the weekend was baking and knitting. I am almost done with the shawl for my Veterans gift then it will be back to my blankets.
I hope you get everything done that you want done so that you can enjoy your time with your family!
I love your hat. Mindless knitting is my favorite! :) I have never knit a hat from the top down... will have to try it out.
Have a great week my friend!

  4. Our weekend was normal. Up early on Saturday to pick up donations for the food bank, Mass that evening. Sunday was jammie day as well as crafting day. Even though we are retired, we still make our weekend feel like weekends.

  5. Your weekend sounds deliciously enjoyable. Ours was too. We went to an auction early Saturday morning. I was able to score a few very nice bids. That evening we went to a retirement dinner for a pastor in our area who is retiring after 45 years in his church. That equaled good food and good fellowship. Sunday was church...more wonderful fellowship and lots of good preaching.

  6. Enjoy your weekend with family. I am all about lists and planning out in advance, this way I am never scrambling last minute.

  7. Your prep sounds very organized. Have the best time with your family. And yes, dusting - so easy to procrastinate. I always like dust free surfaces when I'm finished. Your yarn/pattern dilemma sounds very familiar. It's fun to look though.

  8. I have a start on that Musselburgh hat somewhere! We finally got back to church in person after our vacation that ended with COVID. It was a nice Sunday.
