Knitting News
How are you? How are you doing as we lead up to the holidays? I am getting things done bit by bit aided my a very detailed to do list. I finished my granddaughter's hat a week or so ago and forgot to show you! This project was a fun quick easy knit.
Below is a photo of my husband's hat that I would love to finish before Christmas. For incentives for me to finish on time, I started placing a marker before I start knitting for the day so I could see my progress. It appears I knit one inch or so a day. As of today I am confident I will meet my goal.
Lastly, I restarted a pair of mitts for myself with some lovely wool my daughter gave me for Mother's day. The original pattern I chose was too hard for me to see the stitches to do the cabling and there were mistakes in the pattern that I knew needed to be corrected before knitting. I can do both but I just didn't have the mental bandwidth to do it. The older I get, the harder it is to see dark wool in the evenings even with good lighting. I love the simple mitts I am knitting now!
What are you working on this week?
Your granddaughter's hat is lovely, and you deserve a prize for knitting a gray Musselburgh! That is two hats' worth of plain gray knitting, but your husband will love his nice warm hat.
ReplyDeleteI agree... there are bonus points in Knitting Land for that solid grey Musselburgh!! But it looks so soft and warm! I started a hat for Steve this week as well!
ReplyDeletelove that hat! I'm sure she will look adorable wearing it. I'm still working on my sweater vest and my blanket. I place markers on my blanket each weekend to see how much I get done. It's motivation to knit more on my blanket. Can't wait to see the mittens you have going.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet hat for your granddaughter. Hubby's hat will be so nice and warm. Gray is such a great neutral color too. I have a poncho going as well as 'toe' sock on my needles.
ReplyDeleteI am closing in on the end of one hat for a grandson and then need to finish a second for the other grandson. I’m using the progress marker motivation too. That little pink hat is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter's pink hat is lovely! And your husband's Musselburgh will be so cozy and warm for him. I'm hoping to cast on a hat soon (but I want/need to finish sock #2 first).
ReplyDeleteI am working on a pair of mitts that are fighting me! Those are the last holiday project but don't have to be completed until our daughter's birthday on the 28th. (Yes, that was a nervous Christmas!) The last gift finished was a headband for my granddaughter who has very long hair. I have used that Musselburgh pattern also; it sure makes a warm, cozy hat!
ReplyDeleteYour hats are just lovely. I'm with Bonny and Kat - bonus points for the gray Musselburgh, said the woman who has knit a few gray sweaters. I like gray. Sometimes its best to abandon a pattern/project and knit what feels right. I have two pairs of socks on the needles.
