Quiet Days
Good morning! How are you doing? How is January so far? After my company left last weekend, I have put my house back to the way it was and fully recharged my battery with lots of knitting and reading. I am working on another hat (remember it's hat-knitting mojo for me right now). I started a new book to read and it's one from my shelves which will count towards my ultimate goal of reading what I own and then donating the book out of the house. Sometimes I keep books if I find them extraordinarily touching.
I've struggled with maintaining my walking outside, there is a limit to how cold I can be. I continue to exercise inside with my weights and doing yoga poses. Even though it's cold, I continue to love winter the most. My creativity soars in brisk weather!
I have exciting news to share. As you know, Holly only loves my husband and shows that love only to him. Well, other day she gave me some head butts for the FIRST time ever. I felt so loved by her, then she took a cat nap near me purring away. Also she sat very close to where Frodo (dog) use to sleep on the loveseat. She knows he is really really gone. For any new readers, Frodo died in August and was Holly's nemesis. Frodo (mini-schnauzer) would bark and chase her. Holly is a sensitive soul and would hide from him.
We love Holly being our main pet to dote upon. She is blossoming without Frodo to pester her. Also she loves to come out when the grandkids are here and watch them from afar. She's probably wondering why they are so noisy (as do I).
Stay warm!!
Sounds like Holly loves being doted on too. Enjoy your creative energy.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being chosen as worthy of Holly's attention! My son's cat likes me better than my husband and for some silly reason that always makes me feel good.
ReplyDeleteIt is delightful to read of Holly's blossoming! She is just adorable! Have a nice (quiet!!) weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat photo of you and Holly just makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteOh, cats can be so focused on one person! We have four, but some of them are mine and some of them are my husband's.
ReplyDeleteSo great to see you enjoying winter! I'm noticing that I'm wishing for winter, because I want to stay inside, hibernate and rest. But I can't (yet). Around here, this time of year is actually the season we have to be most active in. The garden is growing extremely fast and the temperatures and humidity are better for working than in summer.
