Weekends

Good morning! How was your weekend? My weekend was nice enough. I went out shopping with my sister briefly on both days and also started doing pesky house cleaning tasks. I used the self cleaning function of a VERY old oven and it worked...I was concerned since it is ancient. My fears were unnecessary - my oven is squeaky clean! My next task is moving furniture to vacuum under them, I need my husband's help with that one, but the task is on the list and that is half the battle.

Our weather is finally above freezing and on my walk yesterday, I took off my mitts because I was warm. What luxury! I've been wearing double layers on my walks for so long that I felt light with just regular layers.

I started yet again another knitting project. This one is a baby blanket for a relative who is expecting sometime this year. I'm now up to five projects on the needles, that is my maximum. Anything more and nothing will be finished in a timely manner.

How was your weekend?

  2. Another family baby! How wonderful. I, too, am working on baby knits. One sweater completed and the matching hat started. A lovely quite weekend here.

  3. Five projects sounds like a lot but I'm sure you'll get them all done in good time (especially if you ignore the house tasks like I tend to do)!

  4. I love that green yarn and I took a walk without a hat yesterday! Not really warm but warm enough.

  5. That color green is great for a baby blanket. Gender-less AND it won't look so babyish if the baby uses it long after babyhood. Happy knitting.

  6. Your weekend sounds lovely, Karen. I can't imagine having five projects on the needles at one time...now having five books going at one time and I'm all in! lol Our weekend was okay. I started last Tuesday with a major fibro flare, so I spent a good bit of time resting and reading. Hubby went to church yesterday, but I stayed in and watched the service through Zoom.

  7. We had a couple of warmer days but next week is supposed to be really cold again.

  8. The oven cleaning feature in older ovens works much better than the new "steam clean" ovens. My new oven is of the lower heat "steam clean" variety and it doesn't work that well. You have a lot of projects going. Shopping with your sister sounds like fun. Enjoy the coming week. See you again soon.

  10. It is nice to be in single layers again. Holly looks like she enjoyed the weekend too. I did manage a short walk around the block today because it was quite warm. We had a quiet weekend at home because we have Covid. Thankfully, our symptoms are mild and manageable.

  11. Glad you're a bit warmer now. That's a lovely green for a blanket.
I spent most of my weekend moving a big pile of cut branches to the back of the garden. Not the most productive task, but it had to be done...
