Spring Time

Good morning to you! How are you doing?

I have recovered from having family visiting last week and am right back to my ordinary quiet days. Spring is arriving again after being here for a few days then leaving for some frigid weather. Today will be over 60 degrees.

I've been having severe dry eye from my autoimmune disease (Sjogren's syndrome) and it's quite annoying. I did see the eye doctor and have a treatment plan but golly, I want it resolved yesterday.

Over a month ago, I started doing some HIIT exercising a few times a week at home to improve my stamina. So I  lined up a bunch of videos that were low-impact, all standing routines ranging 10 minutes to 30 minutes. I expected that I would not enjoy this type of exercising but I have to confess, I love it. I feel empowered when I complete a video and am able keep up with them most of the time. Who knew?

I continue to walk daily but the windy days make my dry eye symptoms unbearable. I am considering joining a gym where it is wind free. (I would miss being outside though). I'm still in the 'should I' stage of deciding.

I'm looking forward to: -more flowers - patio sitting - eating on the patio as well - trees leafing out - more salads for dinner - seeing the neighbors outside working on the gardens as saying 'hi' to them - Easter - my kids moving within 2 months from now - reading a book on the back patio as well.

Those are my Spring wishes, what are your?

  1. I hope your dry eyes are resolved by the new plan. I would love to have a place to swim but I am not a gym person so I make do with walking and Pilates at home. I love your knitting - very pretty.

  2. Mine are like yours. We are entering a New Time with youngest graduating from high school. I have been a homeschool mom for many years. What now? I want to be a writer. It is pollen season here. It coats everything in yellow fluff like snow. In a few weeks I can hose off the deck and venture out for Spring sitting. Is that a thing? Spring Sitting should be the title of a book.

  3. These winds have been so bothersome recently! I hope you find relief from your dry eyes... and soon! I am so happy about this mild weather and I am even happy with the intermittent rain! Have a fantastic weekend!

  4. I wasn't familiar with HIIT, so looked it up. I'm thinking about it. :) I have several types of flowers in bloom right now, but I'm definitely looking forward to more! Those two months will fly by before you know it and then you can see the "Grands" a lot more often!

  6. I hope the treatment plan for your eyes brings results soon. Sometimes the strong wind keeps me from walking outdoors. I miss being outdoors but it makes my ears hurt these days. Enjoy your ordinary days.

  7. I am not a fan of wind either. I do hope your eye situation can clear up soon. Tonight we went to our son and daughter-in-law's for dinner. Iris now sits at the table with us!! She is growing so fast and is just darling. Like Juliann, I am not a gym person either. I walk when I am able to (weather and back permitting). I'd like to start some kind of regular indoor exercise...we shall see....

  8. It's very windy today here in the Uk East coast. I hope your dry eyes improve, I saw an optician when my eye was always red. They diagnosed dry eye and gave me some eye drops. Your knitting is looking good. Spring plans, to get things tidied up ready for summer. I'm looking forward to seeing more bloom in the garden.

  9. Your knitting is very pretty...and oh the daffodils...We don't have any yet here in Western New York. We had an ice event last night so everything is glistening this morning. I hope your eyes improve quickly. Have a good week.
